Coronavirus Alert 

In order to properly protect against further spread of the Coronavirus, please be aware of the following steps. If you have travelled to:

  • Mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau in the last 14 days and develop symptoms.

  • Northern Italy, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos or Myanmar since February 19th and develop symptoms.

  • Iran, Hubei Province in China or specific lockdown or special care zones in Northern Italy or South Korea since February 19th, regardless of if you have developed symptoms

Please DO NOT come into the practice. Remain at home, self-isolate and call 111 for further advice. Symptoms include cough, fever or shortness of breath, however mild they might be. Please follow these steps if you develop symptoms and have been in contact with anyone who follows the above criteria.

While we receive guidance from the CCG regarding this, we have temporarily suspended the ability to book appointments online in order to safeguard against spread of the coronavirus. You can still book your appointments by calling reception on 01179549828.

Dr Vicky Pitts

Dr Vicky Pitts has been a GP at Broadmead for the past 8 years. Vicky has decided to leave the practice to seek a new position with the option of a potential partnership. Vicky will be leaving us in April 20, this is a sad loss for us but we wish her well for her future. We appreciate this can be unsettling for our patients so if you wish to chat to Vicky or Dixine (PM) about alternative GPs, then please do not hesitate to telephone to book an appointment. We are currently recruiting a replacement for Vicky.

If you require urgent medical attention outside of normal surgery hours please dial 111 to access the NHS 111 Service

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

 

The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, an out-of-hours doctor, a walk-in centre or urgent care centre, a community nurse, an emergency dentist or a late-opening chemist.

The fully trained NHS 111 team will collect the caller's personal details, and obtain further information about the nature of their call. They will then make recommendations as to whether a patient needs to be transferred to the BrisDoc Out of Hours service.

If this is the case NHS 111 will book patients into either a telephone advice appointment, or a face to face consultation at one of our primary care centres. If there is a clinical need that requires a home visit the BrisDoc team will arrange this:
